Corona Virus Announcement

News

It is with great sadness that following government advice we are suspending club runs for the foreseeable future. We are effectively pausing membership fees for existing members until we resume club nights, so we will not ask for renewal until we have had a full 12 months worth of active membership. If you haven't paid yet then please wait until we resume club nights. Running in the fresh air remains a healthy thing to do but within the guidance of social distancing. Please stay safe and look out for family, friends and neighbours.

Thanks to everyone that attended the Club AGM. We are working on the minutes and they will be posted on here as soon as they are ready. Unfortunately the Cross Country race due to be held at Bagworth on Sunday 16th was postponed due to the effects of two significant storms. If it can be rescheduled the information will be posted in the relevant pages. This was entirely the correct decision. The safety of not only runners but race organisers and marshals is more important than racing. Keep safe and dry if you're out running this week!

The AGM is your opportunity to have a say in how your club is managed The AGM will be Tuesday 4th February at 8:30 pm in the Black Swan pub, Shepshed. All paid up members are eligible to attend, stand for election to committee roles and vote. Agendas and reports will be available at the meeting. Food will be available.

XC League update

XC Results update! The combined team were 7th in league 2 at Grace Dieu and have risen from 7th to 6th place overall in division 2 after 4 races out of 7 The Men's team were 9th in league 2 at Grace Dieu and remain in 7th in division 2 overall The Ladies team were 7th in division 1 and have risen from 10th to 9th in division 1 overall This is great performance when you bear in mind our runners were organising the car park until 15 minutes before the race and helped clear up afterwards. An excellent team performance. Well done everyone! Keep it up!

Gary Sawle has done a half marathon every months this year and rounded it off nicely with a PB at the Nottingham Christmas Half Marathon with a time of 1:57:15 Stacy King achieved a Parkrun PB and secured copper county standard time at Victoria Park, Leicester, with the help of pacer Stuart Taylor with a time of 26:47
