An amazing few weeks for SRC!!! Events from in the USA, Czech Republic including Parkruns, XC, Run archery, half marathon, marathon and Ultra! This weekend... Lee Arron O'Connor 4th Ladybower 33 mile UltraBrian Darby. Ladybower 15 miler Glenn Smith 12th at the European cup Run Archery Russ Balbi, Yorkshire marathon 3.07.10 and a PB! Chris Baxter, Carsington Half Marathon 1.19.47 course record Ravenstone XC runners all did brilliantly with Philip Higgs coming 1st SRC male in 56th and Anna Munday coming 1st SRC lady in 3rd! Last week... Jacqui Williamson and Ces Zarcone ran the Chicago Marathon. Jacqui did her 3rd Abbotts World Major and Ces got a new PB by 25 mins! Kat Smith (51:55) and Ray Draycott (58:40) did the Shelton Striders 10k.

Coronation weekend didn’t stop Shepshed runners from turning out for both the LRRL Bosworth Half Marathon and the Wymeswold Waddle. SRC had 13 runners representing the club in Bosworth in very warm conditions, Rebecca Randall continued her incredible form and finished First Lady overall and first home for the club. Well done to Matt Roberts who took part in his first ever half marathon! Shepshed Running Club team ready for Bosworth We ended the last race of the season with two full teams today at Bosworth. The mixed course was mainly firm, but the infamous bog was still capable of removing your shoes. There was great running from all of the team with a number of PB placings for a XC race. As it was the last race of the season we should say thanks to all who provided cakes, tea and coffee and lifts for car sharing! Martinshaw Woods Cross Country Report Round 3 of the cross country league at Martinshaw Woods near Groby was another classic. There was technical running through woods with plenty of mud and water to contend with. There was mud - quite a bit of mud. We had the best showing for a cross country race for some time with the welcome return of a number our club members. Everyone put in a strong effort on one of the longest races of the season and we got great results with full Women's and Men's teams. Well done to all of our members that took part in the Leicestershire Road Running League races this season. The awards were presented on Friday 11th November at the Leicester Tigers Stadium. Leicester Half Marathon

Well done to all our members that did the Leicester Half Marathon today! Good conditions, a bit breezy but dry (we all did well to miss the downpour that we drove through on the way home). There was great support from the many marshals and spectators on the route. Special mentions for Rebecca Randell finishing 3rd female despite jet lag and Jane Evans and Alison Bibb for raising more than £600 for the Stroke Association.
