An out and back multi-terrain course over a scenic, traffic free, countryside course through the Grounds of Garendon Park by kind permission of Persimmon Homes.

Note: This is a multi-terrain race with a mix of grass, gravel and hard surfaces. Section in Garendon Park might have puddles or become muddy after heavy rain.

Parking

Please note there is very limited parking on site. There is reduced parking compared to previous years due to construction work at the School. We also have to share the site with other School site users on the day. Please car share, use public transport or arrange to be dropped off. If you live near enough, please walk to the site.

Please be prepared to park elsewhere in Shepshed and allow time to walk to the site.
Please park considerately and do not block driveways or access for neighbouring residents and respect parking regulations.
If you park elsewhere in Shepshed please note that there is pedestrian access to the site from Smithy Way / Westoby Close and Butthole Lane via Blacksmiths Avenue and Countrymans Way.
There is free car parking in the car park available off Britannia Street (10-minute walk, LE12 9AE)
There is a pay and display car park off Field Street, LE12 9AL.
The LC16 and 127 buses serve Shepshed.

Number Collection

Race number collection will be open from 8:30 am. Please collect your race number with chip attached from the registration desk prior to the start of the race. Please quote your name at the desk and your number will be issued. Please allow plenty of time to collect your race number and affix it to your top.

No entries on the day for the main race.

Fun Run : £5 – entries on the day. Fun Run starts at 10am.

Facilities

Toilets and changing facilities are available in the school buildings and the sports hall – please follow the signs. Please remove muddy shoes or use shoe covers provided when indoors. There will be a café serving tea, coffee, and homemade sandwiches and cakes inside the school building. Running Fox will have a pop-up shop inside the school building.

Course Information

The race is 7 miles of mixed terrain through a scenic, traffic free, countryside course through the grounds of Garendon Park by kind permission of Persimmon Homes. The estate is now open to the public on designated footpaths only so please be aware that we do not have sole use of the park. As an out and back course you will be passing other runners so please keep to the right hand side of the paths.

Note: This is a multi-terrain race with a mix of grass, gravel and hard surfaces. Sections in Garendon Park are on paths that might be come muddy after heavy rain. Trail shoes are recommended if there has been heavy rain leading up to the race.

There will be a water station at approximately halfway on the course and at the finish.

Timing and Results

Race results and prizes will be based on position (not chip time).

Results will be posted on the Shepshed Running Club webpage once they have been verified, usually some time on the following Monday.

Prizes

Categories are the same for male and female:

1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th 5th; Under 20; S20; V30; V40; V50; V60; V70; V80; Team (top 3)

Teams prizes are awarded to the lowest total finishing positions of the top three runners from the same club. To count, runners must have included their club information on the entry system, before the race has started.

One prize per entrant (excluding Spot and Team Prizes). If an individual is eligible for two or more prizes the highest value prize will be awarded. If the two prizes are of equal value, the higher placing prize will be awarded. The remaining prize(s) will be awarded to the next eligible entrant.
