Rothley 10k 2021 Results
It was a welcome return for the Rothley 10k although not at its usual June date. Great results from SRC runners especially a top 10 finish for Ian Benskin and special congratulations to Rebecca Randell for first lady! LRRL Results Update
Despite missing several runners due to illness a good turnout of Shepshed runners tackled the infamous hills of the Launde 6 and the gentler undulations of the Desford 5 on an unusually hot day! New members and beginners welcome!
Now that COVID restrictions are lifted Shepshed Running Club have resumed regular running and we are welcoming new members from Shepshed and nearby towns and villages. We are a friendly and sociable running club catering for runners of all abilities. If you are new to running and are interested in joining please come along to the our Club meetings on Thursday evenings at 6:45 for a 7:00 pm start. Dishley Parkrun Defibrilator Appeal
We all enjoy Parkruns and we should support our local Parkrun at Dishley. Dishley currently don't have a defibrillator as the unit stored on the wall at the rugby club is out of date and although new pads were ordered months ago they still have not arrived. A unit has already been ordered thanks to funds advanced to Dishley but we do need to replenish this please. The only way to donate is via the link below please, about half way down the page. Resuming Club nights
Assuming the Government restrictions are lifted as planned on 19th July; from next week we are carefully and slowly going to re-start Club nights on both a Tuesday and Thursday night at 7 pm. For the time being we will meet outisde by the swimming pool on the Iveshead School site, rather than in the hut for obvious reasons. For the remainder of July, Club nights will be for current members or established SRC runners only, as we want to take the time to regroup and get organised before inviting new members and re-starting the "Beginners' Nights" that we run on a Thursday. Our intention will be to invite beginners and new members from Thursday 5th August onward as we settle back into the normal Club routines. You've been missed…
Results Round up
Its great to be back racing again! We had a great turnout of 11 runners at Watermead 5 mile race this week. Well done to everyone and congratulations to Rebecca Randell on placing 3rd female! Watermead 2021 Results SRC at Watermead 2021 Richard Bibb finished 24th in the Windmill Fell Race, roughly 5 miles and 300 m of climb. Richard enjoying the conditions!
Prestwold 10K Results
SRC getting ready! It was the first Leicesterhsire Road Running League race today and for most of us the first race since lockdown began! It was a great turnout for SRC and some excellent results with many PBs being achieved today! Well done everyone, especially Rebecca for her first place finish! Provisional results below. Resuming Club Running
Due to the latest government announcement we are planning to resume our normal club running evenings on the week commencing 19th July - subject to any further announcements. Please check back here for confirmation nearer the time. We look forward to welcoming our members and beginners in July in the meantime stay safe and enjoy your running!
Lockdown continues
We know that many people are still enjoying running despite the COVID restrictions and we all look forward to when we can resume running in large groups and enjoying running as a Club. If you are interested in joining (or re-joining) Shepshed Running Club please keep checking here for news. As soon as regulations allow it we will announce the resumption of Club meetings and organised runs. In the meantime please stay safe and enjoy your socially distanced running.
